Lithium tantalate (LiTaO3) is a piezoelectric crystal, which, unlike lithium niabate, has greater mechanical strength. Therefore, it can be used where the strength of lithium niobate is insufficient (for example, in vibration conditions). Also, crystals have a pronounced pyroelectric effect. This material has good stability, and its piezoelectric properties are slightly inferior to lithium niobate.
